Subsurface

2026-07-31 – 2026-08-03

Set within the historic crypt beneath St Pancras Church, Subsurface invites visitors to explore the ways contemporary artists reveal histories, memories, and lived experiences through diverse artistic practices. Beneath the visible surface, each work uncovers narratives that challenge perception and encourage deeper reflection.

Bringing together sculpture, painting, photography, printmaking, and mixed-media works, the exhibition explores themes of hidden histories, material memory, archaeology, transformation, absence, and the marks left by time. The crypt's distinctive architecture and historic character provide a quiet backdrop for the works, encouraging visitors to consider the relationships between objects, place, and memory from new perspectives.

Artists: Annabell Pu, Edward Vear, Emily Daly, Ethan Rees, Jialu Yao, Kelli Ali, Lary Rauh, Luca Bass, Meng Li, Mengya Li, Naixuan Dong, Nanca, Odelia Tang, Olesia Kryvolapova, Ollie Howard, Qianhui Xie, Qinlin Yang, Qinyunyi Zhang, Tajinder Singh Dhami, Theo Rumsby, Yin Wang.
